Spicee Vada

Ingredients
24 pcs Dukes Spicee Biscuits For the potato mixture:
- 2 cups boiled potatoes
- 2 tsp green chilli chopped
- 2 tsp ginger chopped
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp chilli powder
- ½ tsp mustard seeds
- Few curry leaves
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- A pinch of asafoetida
- I tsp oil
- Salt to taste
For the batter:
- 1 ½ cup chickpea flour (besan)
- ½ tsp chilli powder
- Salt to taste
To fry:
- Oil
To garnish:
- ¼ cup green chutney
- ¼ cup tamarind sauce
- 2 tbsp ready made chilli garlic powder or alternately chat masala.
- Few fried curry leaves.

Method
- Make a batter by mixing the chickpea flour, salt, chilli & water. Beat well for 5 mins to make the batter light.
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, splutter the mustard seeds.
- Add the asafetida and the curry leaves. Put in the potatoes, chillies, turmeric, coriander powder, salt, lemon juice and mix well.
- Divide the potato mix into 12. Take a spice biscuit, put one portion of the potato mix and put another spice biscuit on top[ like a sandwich.]
- Dip the biscuit potato stack in the batter and deep fry. Deep fry some curry leaves.
- Garnish with chili garlic powder, tamarind chutney, green chutney and fried curry leaves. Serve hot!
